⁂ A second volume, with a further 50 plates, was published in 1867. The list of subscribers includes John Gould (5 copies) and Lord Lilford. According to Sir Edwin Landseer Wolf was "without exception, the best all-round animal painter that ever lived." The subjects include monkeys, big cats, deer and antelope, and 17 birds.
