⁂ Rare first Spanish edition of Cook's Voyages, published in 1832 as part of a series called the "New Library of Modern Voyages useful and interesting for Spanish youth". Among the six plates are a scene in Tahiti featuring the Chief Mourner, two New Zealand scenes (a warrior in profile, the war canoe), and concluding a dramatic scene on board the Endeavour. The translator, Alvarado y de la Peña, based his work on the French edition.
