Armfield (Maxwell Ashby) In the Herb Garden, watercolour over pencil, signed, sheet 240 x 185 mm (9 3/4 x 7 1/2 in), under glass, some scattered spots to mount, framed, 1919; together with Armfield (Constance Smedley) The Book of Flowers, first edition, ink presentation inscription from the author to half-title, illustrations by Maxwell Armfield, some foxing and spotting, original cloth-backed boards, spine gilt, 1910; and 6 botanical studies from an album, coloured pencil, on various papers, with ms annotations, all but one tipped onto mounts, some light scattered spots; v.s.
