Autographs and letters.- Callas (Maria) Photograph of Maria Callas and Giuseppe Di Stefano at a restaurant, signed by Callas at head, some ink inscriptions and marking to verso, light edge wear, [1973] § Metropolitan Opera House souvenir programme, for a Gala Performance of Grand Opera in honour of Prince Henry of Prussia, printed on silk, frilled edges, creases and folds, New York, 25th February, 1902 § Lord George Sanger's Equestrian and Zoological Exhibition at Windsor Castle souvenir programme, printed on silk, frilled at head and foot, some folds and creasing, 380 x 295mm., 17th July, 1899 § Three Royal Opera Covent Garden programmes, printed in red and black or green and black, each 4pp., horizontal fold, some short marginal tears, 23rd June and 2nd July 1908 and 9th June 1909; and others, programmes v.s. (9)

⁂ The picture was taken during Callas and Di Stefano's, 1973 tour of Japan, the last time Callas sang in public.

The second features performances by Emma Calvé, Emma Eames, Milka Ternina and Marcella Sembrich.
