⁂ The funerary celebration of Louis I, King of Spain. His father, Philip V of Spain, thinking that he could claim the throne of France abdicated in 1724, naming his 17-year old son Louis his successor. Louis died from smallpox only a few months later, which forced Philip to return to the throne. The elaborate ceremony in Florence was organized by Girolamo Ticciati. The plates show the facade, decorations, ground plan and catafalque.
