Canada.- [Belaney (Archibald)], "Grey Owl or Wa-Sha-Quon-Asin". Tales of an Empty Cabin, one of 250 copies signed by the author with frontispiece portrait in colour, with additional long inscription of "The Iroqouis Indian Tribal wish" by the author, plates, original buckram, t.e.g., others uncut, a little stained, spine faded, 8vo, 1936.

⁂ Archibald Belany (1888-1938) was a British-born conservationist. He became a trapper in Canada and purported to be a Native American woodsman, assuming the name "Grey Owl", but turned to conservation after he adopted a litter of orphan beaver kittens. He wrote several books about beavers and the Canadian wilderness and became something of a celebrity but was exposed after his death.
