Chronicle.- Dits die excellente Cronike van Vlaendere(n) beghinnende, 2 parts in 1, double column, Gothic letter, folding woodcut plate of the 'Siege of Vienna' (torn and repaired with a sizeable part supplied in a competent ink hand), numerous woodcuts within the text (including a large portrait of Charles V), the majority within woodcut borders of varying designs, verso of final f. with large woodcut arms of Holy Roman Empire within woodcut borders, lacking +1&2 (title and first f. of prologue) and +6 (all provided in facsimile), F1 misbound before E1, D6 misbound after E6, last f with a couple of small holes and laid down, a few small holes / repairs within text with loss, several mostly small marginal repairs, some staining, lightly browned, old vellum, rebacked in modern vellum, covers soiled, [Adams F585; Bibl. ⁂ The first and only edition of this beautifully illustrated chronicle of Flanders from c.621-1530. It has been attributed to the Bruges poet Anthonis de Roovere.
