Opium.- Laloy (Louis) Le Livre de la Fumée, one of 100 copies "impression en noir, dessins tirés de teintes diverses", from an edition limited to 220, woodcut illustrations and decorations by Dalny, signed presentation inscription "A Monsieur Guy Ferrant. Ce souvenir du temps lointain de ma sagesse. Avec toute ma sympathie, Laloy 8.XI.34" to front free endpaper, postcard addressed to Guy Ferrant in another hand loosely inserted, very occasional light soiling, contemporary brown velvet, spine lettered in gilt, original pictorial wrappers and backstrip bound in, uncut, spine with some wear and lightly faded, patterned board slip-case, 4to, Paris, Dorbon-Ainé, [1913].

⁂ Influential manual on opium smoking. Louis Laloy (1874-1944) was a French music critic, writer and sinologist.
