R[oss] (A[lexander]) Arcana Microcosmi: or, The hid Secrets of Man's Body discovered...with A Refutation of Doctor Brown's Vulgar Errors, the Lord Bacon's Natural History, and Doctor Harvy's Book De Generatione..., second edition, title in red and black, manuscript notes in ink to rear endpapers, ink staining to a8 verso-b1 recto, browning and staining to lower corners, some spotting and occasional small rust marks, marginal worming (starting to enter text at times), some with small repairs in appendix, the odd marginal tear, text smudged in places, later half vellum, browned and a little stained, corners and spine ends bumped, [Gibson 561; Wing R1947], 8vo, Tho. Newcomb, and are to bee sold by John Clark, 1652.

⁂ Originally published in 1651, this enlarged second edition includes for the first time an Appendix containing attacks on Browne, Bacon and Harvey, the first published criticism of Harvey's work.
