Rabelais (François) Oeuvres...suivies de remarques publiées en anglois par M. le Motteux et traduites en françois par C[ésar]. D[e]. M[issy]., 3 vol., nouvelle edition, one of 250 copies on large papier vélin, half-titles, engraved portrait frontispiece and 75 plates, a few of which folding, tissue-guards, plate 'Le dadans de la Chambre' with tear to fore-margin and fold repaired to verso, vol. 1 occasional small and very faint damp-stain to lower-margin, occasional light foxing or browning, mainly to plates, handsomely bound in marbled calf by Bozerian, signed "Relié Par Bozerian" to foot of spine vol. 1, gilt roll border of leafy tendrils and tongues [Culot 39], flat spines gilt in compartments with mask tool [Culot 22], g.e., marbled endpapers, very shallow chip to vol. 1 spine foot, some expert small repairs to corners and joints, little rubbed, mainly to spines, later morocco-edged marbled slip-cases (small reference stickers to spines, one joint split, rubbed), [Cohen-de Ricci 843], 4to (235 x 190mm.), binding 245 x 210mm., Paris, Ferdinand Bastien, [1798].
