Architecture.- Leoni (James) Some Designs for Buildings both Publick and Private, 27 engraved plates, of which 20 folding or double-page, [c.f. Harris 492], Thomas Edlin, 1726 [?but 1730] bound after a partial copy of Alberti's 'The Painting…’, contemporary calf, upper cover detached, lower nearly so, scuffed and worn in places, folio.
⁂ First edition of this original work by Leoni; 'Some Designs...' was first published (as here present) as the Supplement to his translation of Leon Battista Alberti's multi volume work, 'The architecture [...] in ten books. Of painting in three books and of statuary in one book'. The Supplement complete in and of itself, and was later published separately [see Harris 492].
