Apocalyptic fourth book of Ezra.- Bibliander (Theodorus) De fatis monarchiae Romanae somnium vaticinum Esdrae prophetae, first and only edition, striking woodcut device to title, woodcut historiated initials, final f. blank, occasional early ink marginalia, ink stamp of Basel Library to title and verso of final blank, small chip to upper margin of title, occasional spotting or light staining, lightly browned, modern speckled boards, [Adams B1974; VD16 B 5323], small 4to, Basel, [Johann Oporinus], [1553].

⁂ First and only edition of this interpretation of the pseudepigraphic fourth book of Ezra by the Swiss orientalist, linguist, publisher and Protestant reformer Bibliander (1509-1564). He was known for his contemporary interpretation of the Apocalypse.
