⁂ The Kynoch Press was the in-house press for the company which became Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) in 1929. As well as all the company printing it executed independent fine printing, particularly under the aegis of Herbert Simon from 1922-33 when it commissioned several notable artists. The type specimen book includes an alphabet designed by Ravilious (p.150) and ornaments by his wife Tirzah Garwood (p.155).
