Mathematics.- Bressieu (Maurice) Metrices astronomicae libri quatuor, first edition, title with large woodcut printer's device, woodcut head- & tail-pieces, initials and diagrams, folding letterpress table, some tables in text printed in red & black, title and final leaf soiled, small hole to head of dedication leaves with loss of a few couple of letters (caused by embossed stamp, old repairs), folding table mounted on linen, marginal water-staining to last few leaves, nineteenth century calf by Hatton of Manchester, rubbed, spine faded and frayed at head, folio, Paris, [P. le Voirrier for] Gilles Gorbin, 1581.

⁂ Scarce early work on trigonometry including tables of sines and tangents, by the chair of mathematics at the Collège de France in Paris.
