Horozco y Covarrubias (Juan de, Bishop of Guadix) Emblemas Morales, title with woodcut device (repeated at end of first book), titles to books 2 & 3 with device within elaborate architectural borders, 100 woodcut illustrations of emblems together with letterpress text within architectural borders, q signature misbound, first title with old ink inscriptions (some crossed out) and torn & laid down, some browning, Oo7 torn affecting a few letters (repaired), a few minor marginal defects, front free endpaper loose, later English calf, spine gilt, joints split, spine ends worn, 4to, Segovia, Juan de la Cuesta, 1591.

⁂ Reissue of the first Spanish emblem book which originally appeared from the same press in 1589.
