Ponting (Herbert, photographer & cinematographer for Scott's Terra Nova Expedition, 1870-1935) Album of 48 photographs relating to Ponting's friendship with the singer and artiste Glae Carrodus, including Ponting posing with camera and photographing roadworks at the junction of Conduit and Regent streets and at the harbour of Lowestoft, and Glae Carrodus with friends at Stonehenge and Kew Gardens, each c.55 x 79mm., housed in a contemporary cloth album, some staining to top corner of upper cover, little rubbed, 8vo, [c.1930].
⁂ Ponting had abandoned his American family long before the invitation to join Scott in 1910, and never re-married. He had a late-life romance with Glae Carrodus, singer and grand-daughter of the celebrated violinist J.T. Carrodus.
