⁂ The first work "contains descriptions of the aerostatic experiments of Guericke and Boyle, perpetual motion machines, diving bell, chronometer, barometer etc. etc." (Duveen). The number of plates varies from copy to copy. In the second work Schott includes the first published account of Guericke's experiments with the vacuum pump. Guericke did not publish his own account until 1672.
