⁂ The first item concerns the Duke of Buckingham's calamitous military expedition against the French on the Ile de Ré in 1627 with the aim of relieving the Huguenots of La Rochelle. It was published posthumously, and not in English until the nineteenth century.
The second is a short political survey of Europe during the latter part of the Thirty Years War, first published in Paris in 1638 and in English in 1640, also in Paris.
