Du Chesne (François) Histoire des Chanceliers et Gardes des Sceaux de France distingueés par les Regnes de nos Monarques..., first edition, title with large engraved coat-of-arms by Humbelot and others in text, woodcut head-pieces and initials, with supplementary pp.845-876 bound in at end (printed later and sometimes missing), title lightly soiled and with faint water-stain to upper edge, a few spots and occasional light browning, large engraved armorial bookplate of Nicolai Joseph Foucault, contemporary calf, spine gilt, rubbed and scuffed, slight wear to spine ends, folio, Paris, for the author, 1680.
