Oxford.- English School (19th century) An album comprising 37 original drawings and watercolours of Oxford and its environs, including interior studies of several University buildings, various street studies, memorials, cottages, and ecclesiastical buildings, pen and inks, watercolours, most inscribed with location specifics, a few dated, various sizes between 70 x 75 mm (2 3/4 x 3 in) and 210 x 174 mm (8 1/4 x 6 7/8 in), front free endpaper inscribed '37 Drawings by Sargant', front pastedown inscribed in pencil 'Sothebys Jan 28', all neatly tipped onto album leaves, occasional minor surface dirt, light browning, some blank album leaves, half calf, spine gilt 'Oxford', spine rubbed and scuffed, worn, [circa 1850s to 1860s]
