Ovidius Naso (Publius) Metamorphoses, collation: A-Z8 a8, italic type, engraved title with pictorial border comprised of several pastoral scenes, engraved portrait with decorative border to verso of dedication, 178 full-page engraved illustrations by Pieter van der Borcht, final one with elaborate engraved printer's device on verso, lacking final blank, title with ink signature “E.Philips 1744” to head and a little soiled with short tear to fore-edge (repaired), bookplate of Sir Joseph Copley Bart., modern half crimson morocco over pictorial boards in pen & ink, preserved in modern cloth drop-back box, [Adams O504], small oblong 8vo (88 x 115mm.), Antwerp, Plantin, and Jan Moretus, [1591].
