Coffee.- Moseley (Benjamin) Traité sur les propriétés et les effets du café...Avec les observations sur la culture du café, par M. Fusée-Aublet, translated by M. Lebreton, first edition in French, half-title, 4pp. privilege / errata at end, repaired short tear to lower margin of E5, just touching text without loss, occasional spotting, lightly browned, attractive antique style mottled calf, gilt, spine with brown morocco label, [Cagle 358; Mueller pp.150-151; Oberlé Fastes 747; Vicaire 610; Sabin 51048], 12mo, Paris, Prault, 1786.

⁂ Rare edition at auction. Moseley (1742-1819) received medical training in London and in 1768 he set up as a surgeon-apothecary in Kingston, Jamaica, where he also held the post of Surgeon-General. While there he published a work on dysentery, and this longer work on coffee; one of the island's principal exports.
