Aesop. Fabulae graece et latine, collation: a-z8, roman & italic type, Greek & Latin text, title with woodcut printer’s device, woodcut initials, early pen trials to a couple of leaves, a few spots, some browning and staining, mostly marginal, first few leaves damp-stained and frayed at lower outer corner (repaired), wormhole to outer margin of some leaves, modern vellum, by Bernard Middleton (signed & dated June ’08 in pencil on rear free endpaper at foot), spine titled in gilt, preserved in modern cloth-backed box, [VD16 ZV 140; Not in Adams], 8vo (170 x 114mm.), Basel, Johann Herwagen, 1544[-45].
