Defoe (Daniel) The Life and Strange Surprizing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, of York, Mariner, 2 vol., engraved frontispiece, vignette titles, portrait of the author and 12 plates by Medland after Thomas Stothard, end of vol. 2 with Life of Defoe by Chalmers, a list of Defoe's writings, and 14pp. publisher's advertisements, water-staining to outer margin of plates in vol.1, vol.2 A1 paper flaw, affecting 2 words, both vol. a few short tears, offsetting, some spotting and staining, lightly browned, modern tan half morocco over green marbled boards, gilt spines in compartments and with double black leather labels, 8vo, for John Stockdale, 1790.
