Antarctic.- Scott's Discovery Expedition, 1901.- Markham (Sir Clements Robert, geographer, 1830-1916) Autograph Letter to Captain Anson, 2pp., 8vo, Eccleston Square [London], 27th March 1901, "The 'North Georgian Gazette' will be most acceptable to the officers of the 'Discovery' ; and they will, I know, take great care of it and return it to you with many thanks. Kindly send the book to me here, and it will find its place in the Discovery's library when she comes round from Dunbar. James Ross was a third in the 'Hecla' when the North Georgian Gazette was written... . I was with poor old Sir John Ross in 1850-51 when he came north in the 'Felix' aged 70 - not in the same ship of course", central fold, upper margin slightly creased, removed from an album; and 2 others, comprising 1 TLs and one signature of Admiral Edward Ratcliffe Garth Russell Evans, 1st Baron Mountevans (1880-1957), Royal Navy officer and Antarctic explorer, v.s., v.d. (3).
