[Aesop.] Fabularum quae hoc libro continentur interpretes atque authores…, edited by Martin Dorp, 35ff., roman type, title with charming woodcut border depicting jesters to sides and putti with empty shield at foot, woodcut initials, lacking final blank, occasional light soiling or staining, cropped, modern half dark red morocco over marbled boards, upper cover with onlaid pen & ink portrait of Aesop and scroll with his name, preserved in modern cloth drop-back box, [cf.VD16 A 451], 8vo (188 x 134mm.), Strasbourg, [Matthias Schürer] in libera Argentina, [?1515].
⁂ Very similar to Schürer’s edition of 1516 but with decorative woodcut initials and without his name in the imprint on title or final leaf.
