Aesop.- [Perrault (Charles) & Isaac de Benserade.] Labyrinte de Versailles, engraved additional pictorial title, title in red & black with engraved device, 40 engraved full-page illustrations after Sebastian le Clerc, ?lacking plan (with folding modern pen, ink & watercolour plan of the labyrinth bound in at end), final 3 engravings frayed at upper outer corner not affecting image (repaired), modern morocco-backed boards drawn with labyrinth in black ink, marbled endpapers, preserved in modern cloth drop-back box, small oblong 4to, The Hague, Rutgert Alberts, 1724.

⁂ Description of the maze of Versailles designed by Le Nôtre and Perrault featuring fountains depicting the fables of Aesop, with quatrains by de Benserade. The work was first published in 1677 but this edition in oblong 4to rather than 8vo means that the illustrations are larger and more elaborate, and show members of the Court observing the fountains.
