South America.- Mawe (John) Travels in the Interior of Brazil, particularly in the Gold and Diamond Districts ..., first edition, engraved frontispiece and 7 plates, of which one hand-coloured with short tear at gutter, one engraved map, previous owner's pencil signature to title, occasional spotting and staining, heavier in places, abrasion mark to front pastedown where label removed, contemporary calf, a little rubbed, slight bumping to corners and extremities, [Sabin 46991], 4to, 1812.

⁂ Contains some of the earliest descriptions of the gold, diamond and topaz mines of Brazil.
