Description

Powell (Anthony) Caledonia. A Fragment, first edition, presentation copy signed and dated by the author "and this copy is the property of Mr Alan Harris, Gent. A learned colleague of the author Anthony Powell", and with several autograph corrections to text, full-page illustration by Edward Burra, the odd surface mark, hinges reinforced with tape, original cloth-backed tartan paper boards, printed paper label to upper cover, extremities rubbed but quite sharp overall, Privately Printed, 1934.

⁂ Presented to Alan Harris, a colleague of Powell's at the publisher Duckworth's. Only 100 copies of this, Powell's fourth book, were printed and the author distributed them privately both at the time and for many years afterwards.
