Martyrs.- Scott (William Bell) and Edward Backhouse (1808-1879). An album with 23 etchings by Scott and 34 related original drawings by Backhouse, for "Martyr Scenes of the 16th and 17th Centuries", etchings, pen and ink, brush and wash, many drawings on buff tracing paper, variously inscribed and annotated throughout, various sizes, with most drawings approx. 120 x 180 mm (4 3/4 x 7 in), or the reverse, all neatly tipped onto album leaves, some nicks and losses, adhesive stains and surface dirt, contemporary half morocco, label to upper cover gilt 'Edwd.
