Description

Fore-edge painting.- Heraldry,-.- Edmondson (Joseph) A Complete Body of Heraldry, 2 vol in one, titles, engraved frontispiece portrait and 23 plates most with later hand-colouring, list of subscribers, one or two short tears, a few repairs (one to frontispiece), a few leaves with water-staining to upper margin, light offsetting, occasional foxing and surface soiling, sometimes heavy, bookplate to front pastedown, modern half calf, g.e., with later fore-edge painting of jousting under the gilt, hinges strengthened, a little rubbed to extremities, folio, for the author, by T. Spilsbury, 1780.
