Satire, magic and performance.- Cruikshank (George) Ivan Ivanitz Chabert [The Fire King], scarce, with no copy held in the British Museum, etching, on laid paper, 190 x 125 mm (7 1/2 x 4 7/8 in), unframed, SW Fores, 1818; together with 14 further satirical prints, many with subjects of magic, illusion, deception, and extraordinary performance, including a fantastic French satire with the three cups 'Partez Muscade', William Richardson's 'A Baite for the Devil', 'The Destruction of the Elephant at Exeter Change', SW Fores' 'Billy's Raree-Show-or John Bull "en"lightened' [BM 9030], Woodward's 'The Dog & the Devil!', an uncoloured impression of Rowlandson's 'The Infant Hercules', and others similar, etchings, engravings and lithographs, various sizes, largest 310 x 240 mm (12 1/4 x 9 1/4 in), all unframed, [19th century] (15)
