Hymns & Poetry.- James (Agnes) [Volume of hymns, poetry and a copy of a letter from Susanna Wesley], manuscript signed, in several hands, 88pp. excluding blanks, one page of newspaper cuttings, one page half cut away, some slight spotting, ink patterns on paper loosely inserted, original half straight-grained morocco, rubbed, corners bumped, spine chipped at head and tail with small loss, oblong 4to (205 x 260mm.), 1827.

⁂ Includes: Susanna Wesley letter to her son, begins "God is being itself", 1735; hymns & poems, including: William B Tappan, "The Land of Rest"; Thomas Moore "Evening Bell"; "Lines Addressed to the Miss Smiths by their Governess"; Princess Sophia of Russia; Felicia Hemans "The Voice of Spring"; "Lines written on the blank leaf of a Bible by Lord Byron" etc.
