⁂ An excellent association copy. H.H. Clark was one of several generations of the Clarks / Gordon Clarks to have worked for the family firm of Matthew Clark and Sons, City of London wine & spirit importers, founded in 1810. They represented the great brandy house of J. & F. Martell of Cognac from 1814. The presentation inscription reads 'To H H Gordon Clark Esq. who has been for so many years one of the best friends of the Cognac district and of its fine product'. Includes the viticulture, production and economics of the region through the ages.
