India.- Photograph Album of views in Northern India, Kashmir and Southern Africa, ranging between c. 280 x 216mm. and c.124 x 83mm., c.180 photographs mounted on 30 ff., most mounted several to a page, manuscript captions in a contemporary hand, contemporary morocco-backed boards, lower joint split, rubbed, c.1900; and another album of South Africa which features scenes of the Boer War, 4to (2)
⁂ A varied collection of views of landscapes and architecture in Northern India and Kashmir, such as lake views at Nainital and Chinar Dal; river scenes of fishing, barges and bridges around Srinagar, including a rope bridge at Uri; mountain scenery in Kashmir and architecture and ruins at Delhi and Lucknow. The Southern Africa images also feature river scenes, including the 'Kafue', the 'Sabi', the 'Togue', the 'Lundi drift' and Victoria Falls, as well as images of life in villages, Zulu people, and disrupted travel scenes with many carriages overturned. Both albums also contain interesting scenes of the Boer War.
