Description

Delas, Hermitage, Domaine des Tourettes Rouge [domaine release - Jeroboam], 2015
100% Syrah Delas Freres boast a 180-year history of winemaking in the Rhone Valley. This wine is a blend from 3 different terroirs: L'Ermite, le Sabot, and the famed plot, Les Bessards. These south-facing vineyards favour optimal ripeness and the grapes for the Domaine des Tourettes cuvee are always hand-picked. A tightly-knit tannic structure promises great ageing potential, especially in Jeroboam format. Fermented in traditional open-top concrete tanks. Daily punchdowns and pumpovers for 10 days. Maturation in French oak barrels. Very firm, smoky nose. Bone dry with fine acidity and real density of fruit. Not a suggestion of sweetness. Meaty and serious but already a pleasure to drink.
