Ney (Michel, Marshal of France, French military commander, 1769-1815) Autograph Letter signed to Jean-Baptiste Bigelot, notary of Nancy, in French, 1¼pp. and address panel, 14th December 1800, with the Grand Armée on the Germany-Austria border, spending a tranquil day watching Burghausen and mentioning Claude Legrand causing the abandonment of Salzburg and describing the evacuation of the Tyrol as "the flower of the campaign", folds, browned, tipped-in to a copy of D[umoulin] (Évariste) Histoire complète du procès du Maréchal Ney, 2 vol. in 1, half-titles, some spotting and mostly light staining, contemporary calf, spine richly gilt and with a red morocco label, lower corner worn, rubbed, scarce, 8vo, Paris, Delauney, December, 1815.
