⁂ Charles W. A. Scott was an aviation pioneer who, together with pilot Tom Campbell Black, won the 1934 London to Melbourne Air Race or the MacRobertson Trophy Air Race in just 71 hours, winning £15,000 (about £750,000 today) and making him world-famous.
