Quarles (Francis) Divine poems: containing the history of Ionah. Ester. Iob. Sions sonets. Elegies. An elegie on Dr. Ailmer, not formerly printed, first collected edition, initial f. with 'The Minde of the frontispice', engraved additional pictorial title, water-staining mostly at beginning and end, occasional spotting or light staining, lightly browned, 19th century calf, spine gilt and with red morocco label, [STC 20533], 8vo, Printed [by Miles Flesher] for Iohn Marriott, and are to be sold at his shop in Saint Dunstans Churchyard in Fleetstreet, 1630.
⁂ Rare copy at auction of this work by the Essex-born poet, best known for his Emblems.
Provenance: 'Jessie Pace, from her sincere friend Henry Hopley White. This volume belonged to the late Rev. Issac Saunders, and was bought at his sale, Thursday 11th February 1836.'.
