Loiseau de Tourval], 2 parts in 1, titles with small woodcut ornament, errata at end of part 1, water-stained, occasional spotting, lightly browned, contemporary limp vellum, creased, detaching, [cf. ⁂ Rare at auction. The internationally controversial 1606 Oath of Allegiance required Catholics to swear allegiance to James I over the Pope. 'The imprint is false; in fact printed abroad (in Paris?)' (ESTC). Our copy interestingly set differently to that recorded by ESTC, including the title and the omission of the portrait found on Aii in the recorded issue. Our collation: A-I8 K4; A-Q4, and pagination: 152; 132. The second title is dated 1608.
