Medici (Catherine de', Queen consort of France, wife of Henry II, King of France, 1519-59, 1519-89) Letter signed "Catherine" to Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, 1p., in French, 250 x 190mm., Paris, 26th August 1573, written to accompany a letter to him by her son [Charles IX] thanking him for the compliments he has expressed on the occasion of her younger son Henry's election as King of Poland [the future Henry III, King of France, 1551-89)], address panel on verso, blind-stamped seal, small tears along folds not affecting text, slightly foxed and browned.
