Tutuola (Amos) The Palm Wine Drinkard, first edition, light browning to endpapers, original cloth, very light rubbing and fading to tips of spine and corners, dust-jacket, designed by Barnett Freedman, minor chipping and creasing to spine ends and corners, with neat tape repair on verso to head of spine and one corner, light creasing to head, a bright and excellent example, 8vo, 1952.
⁂ Tutuola's first book and the first African novel published in English outside of Africa. The Palm Wine Drinkard was reviewed enthusiastically by Dylan Thomas and was translated into French by Raymond Queneau.
