James (Montague Rhodes, college head, scholar, and author of ghost stories, 1862-1936) Autograph Letter signed to Thomas Riches, 2pp., 8vo, The Lodge, Eton College, 6th February 1924, thanking him for photographs of manuscripts in Paris and Glasgow, promising to compare them with others, and speculating that Berenson might write "something about the style", fold.
⁂ James was Provost of Eton from 1918 to 1936. Thomas Henry Riches (1865-1935), wealthy patron of the Fitzwilliam Museum.
