Anne (Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, 1665-1714) Letter signed "Anne R" to Leopold I Duc de Lorraine, countersigned by Lord Sunderland, 2pp. with conjugate blank, in French, blind-stamped seal, folio, 23rd April 1709, on continuing their mutual confidence and support, defending the interests of his house, citing the grand alliance and saying that he will be compensated for not getting the duchy of Montferrat, holes in folds, slightly browned.

⁂ Charles Spencer, third Earl of Sunderland (1675-1722), politician. Leopold, Duke of Lorraine (1679-1729), regained his duchy in 1697 after the Treaty of Ryswick. Lorraine had been invaded by Louis XIV, forcing his parents into exile.
