⁂ The bookplate, depicting a cloaked skeleton flanked by a devil, Medusa and two cherubs, was designed by Rex Whistler. It is illustrated as plate 1 in Brian North Lee's Bookplate Designs of Rex Whistler, 1973. Ronald Fuller wrote the bibliography of Whistler, The Work of Rex Whistler, 1960, with Laurence Whistler.
