Fuller (Thomas) The Church-History of Britain; from the birth of Jesus Christ, untill the year M.DC.XLVIII, first edition, presentation copy with ink inscription "The gift of Mr. Thomas Fuller minister of this Parish of Waltham-Abbey who is the Author of this Book. April the 8th, Anno Dom 1646, Hen. Wollaston" to endpaper, divisional titles, woodcut illustrations and initials, 5 engraved plates, with blank ff. 2R4, 4H2 and 6C4, rust-hole to 2G1, dampstaining, a few marginal paper flaws, front free endpaper creased and holed, upper hinge broken, contemporary calf, rebacked, upper joint splitting, rather worn, [Wing F2416], folio, for John Williams, 1655.
⁂ Presentation copies from Fuller are rare, we can only trace 1 example at auction in the last 50 years. Henry Wollaston (died 1670), Justice of the Peace in Essex, married Ursula Foxe, granddaughter of John Foxe. He is mentioned as a dedicatee in Fuller's The infants advocate of circumcision (1653).
