Hooper (c.1495-1555), Bishop of Gloucester, and Worcester, was a protestant reformer and martyr, burnt at the stake in Gloucester (illustrated in Foxe's Book of Martyrs) after Edward VI's church legislation had been repealed once Mary had become Queen.
