[Browning (Elizabeth Barrett)] An Essay on Mind, with other Poems, first edition, intermediate first and second issue with "found" on p.75 with small gap opening up and page number on 148 misaligned but with numbers 12 and 24 correctly aligned, without half-title as issued, spotting, original drab boards, upper cover becoming detached, spine chipped and worn, some rubbing and marking to covers, [Barnes A2; Hayward 238], 8vo, James Duncan, 1826.

⁂ The poet's second, but first published, book, preceded only by The Battle of Marathon , which was privately printed by her father in an edition of just 50 copies in 1820. Rare in the original boards.
