Marlborough (John Churchill, first Duke of, army officer and politician, 1650-1722) Autograph Letter signed, 1p. with conjugate blank, sm. 4to, n.p., 15th August 1709, at the siege of Tournay on the Malplaquet Campaign, "I am extreamly oblig'd to you for your letter which gives me the most exact account of what is doing at Blenheim, I am yett in hopes that I may yett have the happiness of being there the next sumer, this army has never at any sieges til this meet with Mynes, so that our Ingeniers move very slowly, by which they give the soldiers time to acustom them selves to be blowen up", contemporary ink inscription on conjugate blank, "A letter From ye Seige of Tournay By ye Duke of Marlborough", folds, slightly browned.
