Dame Laurentia at Stanbrook [Abbey] wanted her to go there but they weren't able to take her. I... arranged for her to go to Gruyeres (Suisse) and stay a year as a domestic in the little hotel there. So I went out with her and had a great experience of a truly holy and beautiful place and discovered that Gruyeres is not a cheese but a life"; and a small quantity of related ephemera, (sm. qty).
